The Travelers Rest Police and Fire Foundation exists to Support, Promote, Influence, and Recognize the officers, leaders and first responders that serve our community.

Here are some answers to common questions about what we can do with your help:

Why do the police and fire departments need help? Aren’t they funded by the government? While the departments have allocated budget monies set aside each year, there are limits. We work on the outside edge of those limits to fund small projects for equipment or any other budgetary excess expense. 

What specific project are you collecting funds for? We are currently collecting for rugged laptops and “Angel Lights” to assist officers and firefighters in their duties.  Donations also go to funding awards and other incentives for the departments.

How does the foundation recognize and encourage officers and firefighters? We engage the chiefs of each department to determine the officers and firefighters of the quarter for outstanding service and performance in the field, exemplary character, integrity. We do biannual awards luncheons to recognize those selected for recognition and we invite members of the community to participate in this event.
